Today we went over how to install, use, remove, and store the Ford spec'd factory tow hook for emergency use with our 2013-2016 Ford Escapes. They are not included in USA built Escapes for this body style and I believe it's still the case with the more recent vehicles as we had @Ace_Cat on YouTube asking about his on his 2019. However, I could be wrong, so please post in the comments below if your Escape had one come with it! AMAZON *TOW HOOK* LINK HERE (click) AMAZON *TOW STRAP* LINK HERE (click) This hook installs in the front left grille of the Escape (looking at the front of the car, not from the driver's seat). There's a pop out cover and then a socket/threaded hole inside which ties to the body of the vehicle. This is the only recommended tow/pull location on the front of the vehicle by ford. The above tow strap is rated for 10,000 lbs and you attach it to your tow hook by threading the loop through the eye, and running the longer length through the loop like a slip knot. This thing won't break! NOTE* You want a longer strap because if it's a short one, you risk collision if somebody comes free quicker than you think! Not fun, hah. IF you want to pull or tow from the rear, get a towing package, or aftermarket hitch. So, now the fun part- questions:
